You will learn the Full Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, including asanas, pranayama, drishti, vinyasa, and bandhas. This prepares you for self-practice and confident participation in group Mysore style classes.

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and vigorous form of Hatha yoga, emphasising synchronisation of breath with movement and energetic sequences. It's characterised by a set series of poses, each held for five breaths, punctuated by half sun salutations to maintain the pace.

Originating from Sri Krishnamacharya and popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga Yoga is known for its strenuous nature and use of vinyasa. It's effective in cultivating focus, discipline, and mental clarity while flushing away non-constructive habits.

The Primary Series, or "Yoga Chikitsa," serves as a therapeutic cleansing and toning process for the body, mind, and senses. By clearing energy pathways and allowing prana to flow freely, it promotes balance and efficiency in bodily functions.
