If you cannot reach aches, pains and tensions that cannot be reached by Swedish Massage, then you should try Deep Tissue Massage, where the pressure is deeper, the pace is slower and the deeper muscles and fascia are worked on. It realigns the different layers of tissue, treating the tendons, ligaments and fascia, as well as the muscles to release tension and provide pain relief. The therapist relaxes the superficial muscles first and then sinks in to access the deeper muscles. Myofascial Release techniques are usually used, to release the connective tissue and adhesions here. Trigger Points are also often worked on, to release muscle knots, eliminating pain in the area, surrounding areas and in the areas of referred pain.
